Welcome to the Michigan Ag Expo!
Welcome to the 2013 Ag Expo! As in year’s past, this year’s Ag Expo is sure to bring you all the latest in technology in agricultural production and current research findings from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources faculty, MSU AgBioResearch scientists and MSU Extension staff members.
The CANR has pioneered advancements in agricultural and natural resource research, scholarship and extension since its inception. Malcolm Trout’s process for homogenizing milk, the hybridization of corn by William Beal, the pioneering horticultural work of Liberty Hyde Bailey and early consumer advocate Robert C. Kedzie’s work to organize the forerunner of MSU Extension in 1876—the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University is home to some of the biggest discoveries in history.
The CANR, AgBioResearch and MSU Extension conduct and translate basic and applied research that helps people live better lives. This is what the land-grant university mission is all about.
Across the Expo grounds this year, you can meet with more than 200 exhibitors to learn about products and services that help Michigan agricultural producers continue to succeed. It’s your opportunity to check out the latest models of tractors, sprayers and dairy equipment or compare seed and fertilizer varieties. You can enjoy the full schedule of demonstrations and educational sessions to help you manage your farms and businesses. Demonstrations focus on tillage, mortality composting, sprayer calibration, equine management and biodiesel processing.
We continue to serve Michigan residents to improve farm profits, agribusiness development and personal quality of life. We collectively aim to create and retain jobs throughout Michigan, improve the health of people, communities and animals, and discover new knowledge that can help you expand your business and improve your life. Through our ongoing research, teaching and outreach programs, we help millions of Michigan residents across the state.
We are pleased with what this year’s expo has to offer, and we know you will be, too. Thank you for making the trip to East Lansing and Michigan State University. Enjoy the show!
